COVID-19... Your Business & Marketing

business Mar 13, 2020

We are in a trying time.

The last couple of weeks have been full of information on the Coronavirus and what's happening where.

WHO recently labeled this virus a global pandemic.

The NBA has canceled the season.

The President of the United States has banned travel from Europe.

Large events are being canceled around the world.

And there is you and I....

The small business owners who depend on our businesses for their livelihood.

The woman... or man... who cannot afford for sales to stop coming in.

You are nervous. You are scared. You are trying to maintain.

You know promotions matter, but you don't want to be swallowed up by the newsfeed.

I get it... and that's why I wanted to share with you a few things you can do to prepare yourself and your business to navigate this difficult season.

  1. Tip 1 - Don't rely on discounts to survive. Listen, I get it. When money gets tight and you want to think of a way to create some cash flow into your business, the easiest thing to do is run a sale. Discounts do work, but don't rely on them for survival, because that can be hard to bounce back from. I love using the Cash Flow Funnel to promote the specific digital products I offer. Here's the simple breakdown on how to use a Cash Flow Funnel:

    1. Create a landing page for your product with an email sign up form. For 2-3 weeks, encourage people to join your list, because that is the only way to access the special promotion on your course/product. Note: I don't recommend discounting offers that include YOU, unless you have a solid back-end option that converts well.

    2. Create an 8-part email sequence to promote your course/products. You need three (3) emails to send before your cart opens, five (5) to send during your open card, and one (1) to send after your cart closes.

  2. Tip 2 - Know Your Audience. I cannot stress this one enough - knowing your audience will forever be queen in your entrepreneurship journey. The more you know about them, the easier it is to schedule relevant content they will enjoy and appreciate.

  3. Tip 3 - VIP Days Will Be Your Best Friend. VIP Days work! They are quick. They are solution-oriented. They are low key. Having a strong VIP Day offer and back-end offer will be the saving grace of your coaching business during trying times - TRUST ME. One of the things I love most about VIP Days is they are universal. They expand beyond any industry, and can be hosted in virtual or in-person formats.

  4. Well, that's all the tips I have for now. If I think of more, I'll be back to share them with you.

xx Kim
